Manduka, creators of high-performance yoga gear designed for and by yogis, officially entered the apparel market with the launch of its first men’s and women’s activewear collection available online and in nationwide yoga studios in the U.S and Europe.

The Spring/summer 2016 collection features 40 unique styles with a progressive point of view on crop tops and bras for women, and re-invents yoga pants, tanks and shorts for men, allowing for a more expansive stretch between the legs and maintaining form while inverting or in downward dog.

Manduka’s approach to apparel begins with yoga and performance; to both enhance the practice and support the planet. Made from recycled polyester, organic cotton, hemp, Tencel & Modal and Sorona, each material allows for maximum comfort, fit and movement while playing a significant role in a sustainable ecosystem.

“Before we sketched our first design, we asked ourselves, does the world need another line of activewear? The short answer was yes,” said Sky Meltzer, CEO of Manduka. “Yoga practitioners need apparel that is very specific, and technically crafted for the practice, which includes inversions and a broad range of motion. They need a line that is made for yoga – offering less distraction on the mat and more focus on the powerful results that come with a good practice.”

To celebrate the launch of apparel, Manduka will bring the concept of Made For Yoga to life through a social campaign kicking off on February 9. The digital activation will encourage yogis to share their own #MadeForYoga story on Instagram, Facebook and Twitter for an opportunity to win a suite of Made for Yoga gear and apparel.
