MARCO DE VINCENZO TO DEBUT MENSWEAR AT JUNE’S PITTI UOMO

Award-winning Italian designer Marco De Vincenzo, who has received worldwide acclaim for his ten-year-old eponymous womenswear brand, will launch his first men’s collection at the next Pitti Uomo in Florence (June 11-14).

The new collection, for spring/summer 2020, will be presented in a traditional fashion show format on June 12 as part of Pitti Italics, a program sponsored by Fondazione Pitti Immagine Discovery that promotes and supports new generations of Italian fashion designers and the most interesting brands that design and manufacture in Italy.

“In 2016 I was invited by Pitti as a guest designer for women’s ready-to-wear,” said the designer. “The energy of that event was so incredible that I had promised myself I would return for an important debut. My first menswear collection could only be presented in a similar context, where the joy of doing this job is felt in every corner of the city.”

In 2014 De Vincenzo signed a partnership with LVMH for his namesake brand and earlier this year he reorganized the corporate structure through the entry of a second partner, Mmgp.

In addition to running his own line, the Messina-born designer, 41, is creative head of leather goods at Fendi, a house he joined at age 21 after studying fashion and lifestyle at the European Institute of Design in Rome.
