Morrissey Modeled For Supreme And Now Really Regrets It

by MR Magazine Staff

Since 2005, NYC-based menswear label Supreme has used photos of high-profile musicians as ad campaigns. The photos almost always feature the artist or celeb wearing a Supreme tee, and with photos almost always taken by Terry Richardson. The series originally kicked off with Raekwon, while more recently Lou Reed, Neil Young, and even Lady Gaga have appeared in the pictures. Today, fans were treated to the news that the legendary Smith’s frontman Morrissey was the latest artist to pose in a box logo tee. Most Supreme fans simply assumed that the photo (and resulting posters plastered around NYC) signaled that the latest collection from the label was imminent. And yet, things took a bizarre turn when Morrissey took to his website to renounce the campaign. See more at GQ.
