MR PORTER’S ‘MR P.’ LABEL GETS INTO GOLF

by Stephen Garner

Mr Porter’s in-house private label Mr P. has introduced a golf collection to its growing menswear range, which originally launched in 2017.

The collection encompasses 23 pieces across ready-to-wear, accessories, and footwear. The resulting collection embraces the essence of a golfer’s uniform to form a head-to-toe wardrobe (gloves and shoes included) ideal for those seeking a fashionable alternative to high-performance technical apparel, or for golfers who are inspired by fairway style, on and off the course.

Mr P.’s golf collection includes elements of classic tailoring along with touches of Ivy League nostalgia, such as racing stripes and varsity letters. Slim-fit chinos are modernized with the finest stretch cotton providing comfort and mobility. V-neck sweaters and open Johnny collar polo shirts are designed with relaxed fits that won’t inhibit movement on the golf course. Plus, Mr P.’s ever-popular Derbies are reinterpreted into technical golf shoes.

“Golf has always been a consideration to explore for Mr P. as it’s a sport that blends style and camaraderie, two things we cherish at the brand,” said Olie Arnold, style director at Mr Porter. “This collection was designed and produced with exactly that in mind for golf enthusiasts who are as passionate about their style as their game. Whether teeing off at noon or enjoying a post-round refreshment at the 19th hole, Mr P.’s golf collection celebrates the time-honoured pastime, while marrying a contemporary approach to golf style, on and off the course.”

To further mark the launch, from now through June 6th, 100 percent of the net profits sold from the collection will be donated to the Mr Porter’s Health In Mind Fund powered by Movember – the online menswear retailer’s ongoing content and fundraising initiative dedicated to helping men lead happier, healthier and more fulfilling lives.
