MR. SATURDAY TO DROP FALL COLLECTION THIS WEEKEND

by Stephen Garner

Mr. Saturday will be releasing the first delivery of its fall/winter 2020 collection “Stranger Than Paradise” online this weekend.

Continuing the brand’s exploration of historical nightlife, the new collection – which first debuted during Paris Fashion Week: Men’s in January – references New York City’s legendary Mudd Club in 1978. “Stranger Than Paradise” captures this era of new wave punk through an elevated ready-to-wear range of luxury knitwear, coats, hoodies, to worn-in leather jackets, as well as utilizing vintage upcycled fabrics such as denim patchwork made from vintage Levi’s, quilted blankets, and reworked vintage leather jackets.

Key pieces from the first online delivery include a raglan sleeve teddy robe coat, printed cupro woven shirts, an embroidered black nylon satin bomber jacket as well as a range of heavyweight cotton graphic hoodies and t-shirts with prints associated with the Mudd Club.

For this first delivery, Mr. Saturday tapped Steph Verschuren to shoot an editorial at its recently opened, first-ever retail location in Toronto. Blurring the line between gallery and retail, the store and showroom space offers a personalized, by appointment, and COVID-safe shopping experience.

The “Stranger Than Paradise” collection starts at $190 and will be available for purchase online at mrsaturday.com on Saturday, October 24th.
