NAUTICA TEAMS UP WITH URBAN NECESSITIES ON COLLECTION

by Stephen Garner

Nautica has teamed up with Urban Necessities, a sneaker consignment shop located in Las Vegas’s Fashion Show Mall, on a new collection.

The Nautica x Urban Necessities capsule collection is composed of 22 Nautica heritage styles that have been hand-picked from its archives and customized by Jaysse Lopez, founder of Urban Necessities. Elements of Lopez’s aesthetic infused with energy from the ‘90s has brought this collection of co-branded, custom pieces to life. Categories include graphic tee’s, jackets, pants, shorts, jeans, long-sleeve knits, and more.

“Jaysse has been a Nautica enthusiast for decades,” said Steve McSween, vice president of design at Nautica. “We are excited to re-introduce iconic Nautica pieces that represent the heritage of the brand and have been given his unique point of view to create cool customization.”

“Jaysse grew up wearing Nautica during the nineties and selected various nostalgic pieces from our archives to bring this collaboration to life,” added Alexandra Taylor, senior vice president of marketing at Authentic Brands Group. “The Nautica x Urban Necessities partnership will bring new life to the brand and bring back many of the heritage moments.”

The collection, which retails between $39.50 and $168, is now available for purchase on nautica.com and urbannecesities.com.  As of today, the duo has dropped 17 out of the 22 items, with the five remaining items scheduled to be released individually over the next four consecutive Thursdays.

Several other specialty retailers, like Banned LA and Dr. Jays, will carry the line in November.
