Onward Reserve Men’s Store Coming To Nashville

by MR Magazine Staff

A men’s retailer is joining the ranks of women’s boutiques in Nashville’s Hillsboro Village neighborhood. Onward Reserve is slated to open in spring 2017 at 1708 21st Ave. S. in the H.G. Hill building also occupied by Pancake Pantry. “Nashville is one of my favorite places,” Onward Reserve founder TJ Callaway said in a statement. “Hillsboro Village is the perfect location for our newest Onward Reserve location. I look forward to designing a store that will feel right at home along 21st Ave. I most look forward to many more breakfasts at the Pancake Pantry.” Callaway named the store after a hunting trip he took with friends in Onward, Miss. on the same property President Theodore “Teddy” Roosevelt went bear hunting on 100 years prior. Callaway said a trapper was hired without Roosevelt’s knowledge to capture and deliver a bear for Roosevelt to kill. But Roosevelt demanded the bear be set free. Shortly after, a toy maker in New York was granted permission to manufacture a plush bear toy named the “Teddy Bear.” “That story even made an impact on me when I heard it over 100 years later while hunting on the same property,” Callaway said. Based in Atlanta, Onward Reserve sells high-end sportswear, performance golf apparel, shoes, accessories, sport coats and outwear. The stores carry brands such as Barbour, Shinola, Krewe, Smathers & Branson and Steve Penley, along with its own Onward Reserve menswear line. Read more at The Tennessean.
