ORLEBAR BROWN LAUNCHES FIRST-EVER UNDERWEAR COLLECTION

by Stephen Garner

Orlebar Brown has launched its first-ever underwear collection.

Known for its focus on elevated tailored swim short styles, Orlebar Brown’s new underwear collection allows their attention to detail to translate to everyday wear.

Made from a breathable, lightweight and soft stretch-cotton in form-fitting shapes, the underwear line offers premium comfort for every day wear with four key styles: slip, brief, short trunk, and mid trunk.

“We are always looking to develop new product categories and underwear has been on our radar for a long time,” Adam Brown, founder of Orlebar Brown, told MR. “When we ask our customers in an annual survey what other products they’d like to see at Orlebar Brown, underwear has always been top of the list. I launched OB with four lengths of tailored swim shorts in classic colours and we have used the same concept with our new Underwear collection and love the simplicity of it and it’s of course on the top of every man’s packing list when planning to travel.”

Asked about some of the main goals he had when developing underwear, Brown adds: “The goal is about expanding the brand universe into other categories. Underwear is a natural extension for it. Our swimwear is 36 percent of the business and we want this new category to contribute significantly to our product sales mix.”

The collection is now available at Orlebar Brown stores, orlebarbrown.com, and selected retailers globally for $50 a pair. The underwear line will also be available at the brand’s wholesale accounts in November.
