PETER MILLAR DEBUTS ITS NEW CHICAGO STORE

by Christopher Blomquist

Peter Millar opened its first boutique in Chicago today.

Located at 877 N. Rush Street, the 3,100-square-foot boutique’s interior is inspired by the architects who helped form the Windy City’s iconic skyline.

“The vision for this boutique was to provide an entirely unique experience for our Chicago customers. Our ethos for this location balances components of modernism with architectural inspiration from masters like Louis Sullivan, Frank Lloyd Wright and Ludwig Mies Van der Rohe,” said Peter Millar Scott Ruerup, president of the brand (pictured showing the fall collection in NYC). “The neighborhood inspired this vision and we believe our customers will feel a sense of appreciation for these details.”

The store will carry the complete Peter Millar lifestyle offering including Peter Millar Collection, Crown, Crown Sport, Crown Sport Active and the new Crown Crafted luxury performance sportswear collection that blends fine Italian yarns and hardware with innovative textiles.

When asked what this opening meant to the company, Ruerup said, “Chicago’s retail market embraces world-class patronage; naturally, we aspire to cultivate our presence in a city akin to the values and standards of the Peter Millar brand. Inherently, we couldn’t be more excited to introduce a new boutique to one of our favorite destinations.”

The new store is the brand’s 17th standalone location in the United States.
