Italian trade show company Pitti Immagine has signed an artistic consultancy agreement with Olivier Saillard – one of the most important and eclectic figures on the international contemporary fashion culture scene – to handle the conception and planning of cultural and promotional events linked to the corporation and the fairs it organizes in Florence.

Saillard is a fashion historian, curator, performance creator, and the director of the Palais Galliera Musée de la Mode de la Ville de Paris from 2010 until last January before becoming Artistic Director, Image and Culture at the J.M. Weston maison. He has already collaborated with Pitti Immagine and the Fondazione Pitti Discovery in the past, curating special projects (Vestirsi da Uomo in 2011) and exhibitions (Il Museo Effimero della Moda in 2017). The objective of the consultancy assignment is to give greater continuity and strategic breadth to his collaboration with the companies that work with the Centro di Firenze per la Moda Italiana which, in this way, confirms its primary focus on investment into fashion culture.

Along with the consultancy agreement for Pitti Immagine, Saillard has been entrusted by the Fondazione Pitti Discovery to curate the exhibition on men’s fashion, which will be held in 2019, from June to October at Palazzo Pitti, in collaboration with the Museo della Moda e del Costume.

The next edition of menswear trade show Pitti Uomo will take place January 8-11, 2019.
