PREPPY TIMES TWO

by Christopher Blomquist

Sperry and Rowing Blazers toasted and previewed their new collaboration at a fun-filled cocktail gathering on the rooftop of the Sperry showroom in midtown Manhattan last night. The shoes, which will be released this July, include boat styles and canvas sneakers in Rowing Blazers’ bright signature colors. They were created by founder and designer Jack Carlson, a busy guy who has also made exclusive cobranded apparel pieces for Japanese store Beams this season. The Sperry/Rowing Blazers partnership will be ongoing and couldn’t be a better match as Carlson’s preppy-inspired aesthetic is completely in line with that the iconic footwear maker, which has been producing its famous boat shoes and other styles since inventor and sailor Paul A. Sperry founded it in 1935.
