RAG & BONE DEBUTS LATEST MEN’S FOOTWEAR COLLECTION WITH GRENSON

by Stephen Garner

Rag & Bone has launched a new men’s footwear collaboration with English cobbler Grenson. This season’s capsule collection is part of an ongoing creative partnership between the two brands, which began in 2007 with the launch of the Dodger Boot, a rugged workwear boot.

The new collection is a curated selection of classic styles with a twist—chelsea boot, chukka boot, brogue, and oxford. The collaboration updates the time-honored skills of Grenson with modern sport references and functional details from Rag & Bone.

The chelsea boot is crafted in burnished suede with goring stretch along the mid-sole and lug soles on the bottom for added wearablity. Custom jacquard Rag & Bone branded 3M reflective pull tabs combining elements of sport with heritage are found on each style, with 3M reflective laces and lace tabs on the chukka boot, oxford, and brogue. Each shoe in the collection is made in the U.K. by hand, and features a handwritten “Made in the U.K.” stamp along with a handwritten size on the interior of the shoe wall. The interior is lined in Rag & Bone safety orange alongside an embossed British camo foot bed, and custom branded sole.

The wingtip and wingcap brogues feature a custom punch-hole brogue detail on the toe, creating a dagger pattern, a Rag & Bone signature. Finished with Goodyear triple welts, the brogues offer a special sole and welt construction that gives the appearance of three welts of varying widths. Unique to Grenson, this welting process was invented by craftsman in the Grenson factory for durability and to ensure the shoe can last a lifetime.

Available on rag-bone.com and select Rag & Bone stores in the U.S. and U.K., the Rag & Bone x Grenson collaboration retails between $495 and $595.
