Rag & Bone Agata OstiNew York fashion label Rag & Bone has announced a new limited-edition collaboration with Agata Osti, daughter of Massimo Osti, the founder of C.P. Company and Stone Island.

The capsule collection, which includes three unisex outerwear styles, focuses on two parkas and a shearling trimmed-liner that have been reworked with modern updates. The wool Reversible Parka is a contemporary reinterpretation of a classical archival style, re-engineered with seamless technology on a wool-nylon ‘formula steel’ fabric, custom developed to create an elevated performance fabrication.

The Shell Parka, based on a vintage camp parka, is fused with the Rag & Bone Sector jacket to create the essential combination of a technical and military inspired jacket. Visually iconic in its details, such as the contrast taping and Velcro patches along the sleeves, it features a custom made performance fabric with a natural aspect, and heat-transferred labels. The articulation of the jackets function is visible through heat bonded seam taping along the pocket shapes and trims.

Rounding out the capsule is the Quilted Liner, which references a design from a classical pilot jacket selected from the Massimo Osti Archive. Crafted with thermal padding, an onion quilted pattern, and finished with authentic shearling, the Liner can be worn on its own or attached into the parkas.

Rag & Bone Agata OstiTo commemorate the special collaboration, each jacket will be numbered 1-100. Available in Select Rag & Bone stores worldwide and rag-bone.com, the capsule will range from $995-$1995.

In creation of the capsule, the brand worked in close partnership with fabric developer Adriano Caccia and Antonio Forato, the owner of the iconic Italian sportswear manufacturer, Pespow, to respect the heritage of the Massimo Osti archive. Caccia and Forato previously worked alongside Osti to create some of his most innovative and distinct fabrics. Using tried and tested production techniques to develop functional yet wearable products, these highly skilled craftspeople from generations of Osti production teams were sought out specifically for this special collaboration.

“Osti designs have always been known for authenticity and craftsmanship; two of the core values of Rag & Bone,” said Marcus Wainwright, founder and chief brand officer of Rag & Bone. “I have tremendous respect for the legacy (of Massimo) which his daughter Agata Osti now carries forward for this special capsule. I am thrilled that we can partner together and harness the tried and tested fabric development and production of Pespow; both elements which are recognized as some of the most innovative and technical, yet highly functional techniques of our time.”

“In doing research for our capsule, I reworked some of the technical fabrics from the Massimo Osti Archive that were innovated in the 80’s and 90’s,” added Agata Osti, Massimo Osti Archive manager and creative director. “They were redeveloped with a new contemporary spirit through specially updated production techniques. With respect to my father’s approach to design, I wanted all constructive details to have both a functional and aesthetic value to achieve a contemporary but timeless design.”
