RAY-BAN LAUNCHES COLLECTION WITH POP-REBEL ROCKER YUNGBLUD

by Stephen Garner

Ray-Ban has launched a new capsule collection styled by pop-rebel rocker YUNGBLUD.

The collection includes three bold shapes inspired by the musician’s vision of the future: a place where people can be themselves, no matter what the world tells them to be. The collection features updated takes on the State Street, Nomad, and Caribbean styles from the eyewear brand.

The State Street is a squared take on the classic Ray-Ban Wayfarer. YUNGBLUD has styled the acetate frames, sandwiching blue and orange in a bi-layer interpretation of the much-loved Ray-Ban staple, enriched by Evolve Photochromic lenses.

The distinctive profile of the Nomad recalls 1970s rock and film history. For the collection, YUNGBLUD adds a shot of neon pink to the acetate frames, and pink Evolve photochromic lenses.

The authentic jet-set style of the Caribbean, first released in the 1960s as a subtle twist on the original Ray-Ban Wayfarer, is set with green Evolve photochromic lenses. Green dashes on black acetate frames nod to a future where your identity is what you make it.

The campaign video for the collection is set to the musician’s explosive single ‘Strawberry Lipstick’. The track, released back in July, will be included in the artist’s forthcoming full-length album ‘weird!’ set to drop December 4th.

All three styles in the capsule collection are now available for $195 – $205 in limited quantities exclusively on ray-ban.com, in Ray-Ban Stores, and on Ray-Ban’s Instagram Checkout.
