Saks Fifth Avenue, in partnership with Esquire magazine, celebrated the winners of the fourth annual Fabric No. 1 awards last night at its New York City flagship. This prestigious prize honors the Fall 2015 season’s finest wool fabrics for Ready-to-Wear and Made-to-Measure suits and sport coats from the world’s premiere textile mills. The two winning mills this year are Vitale Barberis Canonico for suiting and Lanificio Fratelli Cerruti for sport coats.

“We’re thrilled to announce our fourth year of the Fabric No. 1 competition and celebrate mills with the highest quality suiting fabrics,” said Thomas Ott, SVP GMM of Men’s at Saks Fifth Avenue. “With a total of 50 international fabric brand submissions for consideration, it was a tough competition amongst the participants, but these two Italian mills stood out from the rest of the contestants for their exceptional use of materials.”

Each Fabric No. 1 piece will be identifiable by a custom number and label, marking it as a one-of-a-kind garment. The Fabric No. 1 program will be supported by window displays in Saks Fifth Avenue’s flagship store, a spread in the Men’s Fall Fashion Magalog, and promotion on Saks Fifth Avenue’s social media platforms.

Fabric No.1 Ready-to-Wear garments and Made-to-Measure orders will be available in limited quantities at Saks Fifth Avenue locations in New York and Chevy Chase, MD.
