Salence Wins Fashion Group International’s Rising Star Award
Whitney Hunter and Andy Gathings of Salence Outerwear have won Fashion Group International’s Rising Star Award for menswear.
The 18th Anniversary Rising Star Awards were held on February 6 at Cipriani 42nd Street in New York. Designer Jason Wu, who won a Rising Star Award seven years ago, was the keynote speaker. The other finalists for the menswear award were Alder New York and Alexander Nash. The annual awards honors creativity and innovation in eight categories, including accessories, women’s wear, beauty/fragrance and retail.
Birmingham, Ala.-based Salence was founded in 2012. Salence’s outerwear combines classic menswear styles with performance materials and updated fits.
Salence is exhibiting in Las Vegas this week at MRket’s Vanguards Gallery and at Liberty.
