It was a fabulous show for buyers and brands—lots of Chicago sunshine, beautiful product, and happy retailers gathered together to talk menswear 2020—fashion and strategy. The consensus was a definite need for newness, for establishing a more frequent flow of fresh product (and we saw plenty at the show!) There was also much discussion about how independent store owners can attract the next generation—of customers and of management. And of course, debate continued about numerous timely issues: tariffs on Chinese goods, vendors selling direct, the future of suits, collaborations, and pop-ups, sustainability, and more.
