Shein Surpasses H&M, Zara In U.S. Fast Fashion Sales

Amid the pandemic-induced surge in e-commerce spending, Shein has become the largest fast-fashion retailer in the U.S., according to a June report from Earnest Research. The company now has more app downloads in the U.S. than Amazon. As of June 16, Shein comprised 28% of U.S. fast fashion sales, surpassing H&M (20%), Zara (11%), Forever 21 (10%) and Fashion Nova (8%), the report indicated. The company made up 13% of the total fast fashion industry sales at the beginning of 2021. Overall, the U.S. fast fashion market grew 15% between January 2021 and mid-June.
