SLATE & STONE DEBUTS FIRST SWIMWEAR COLLECTION

by Stephen Garner

Slate & Stone SwimNew York-based contemporary lifestyle brand Slate & Stone has launched its first swimwear collection.

Available in ten colors and prints at $98, the new range is inspired by weekend getaways at the Hamptons that the brand’s creative director Jeffrey Jacobs spends at his family’s summer home.

“I think it’s important to be confident and feel good in how we dress ourselves each day,” said Jacobs. “Part of a man’s wardrobe is his vacation wear, specifically his swimsuit. Swim is an easy way to play with color and prints, which some men may normally shy away from, and a less obvious way to show personality.”

Celebrating its fourth year in business, Jacobs felt that now was the time to finally add swim to complete the lifestyle vision of Slate & Stone. When designing the debut swim collection, he revisited memories of his childhood: playing in the ocean and remembering his love for the suits his mother would buy him to run around in at their beach house.

Slate & Stone SwimThis summer the brand has also partnered with the McCarren Hotel & Pool in Brooklyn on its summer uniforms. “The pool staff will be wearing our dark blue bricks swim short and the collection will also be available in the hotel’s retail store, giving guests who are fans of the collection the opportunity to take home a pair,” added Jacobs.

Slate & Stone is now sold at Nordstrom, Bloomingdale’s, Lord & Taylor, slateandstoneclothing.com, and various specialty boutiques across the country.
