Brands like Gosha Rubchinskiy, Off-White, and Palace have turned a sport that most Americans know nothing about on a professional level into a defining streetwear aesthetic. In fact, the only thing that might be growing faster than soccer participation in the US is the number of faux club team scarves available at Opening Ceremony. It’s telling that at last week’s Social Studies pop-up in Miami, nothing was more hyped than the Nike-sponsored soccer-jersey design session, where even Skepta himself screen-printed streetwear logos—like Awake, 032c, and Off-White—onto blank club tops.
