Southern Tide has launched its latest collection with ocean conservation partner, Beneath the Waves. The new collection speaks to the continued importance of awareness around marine conservation while celebrating the UN’s Decade of the Ocean for Sustainable Development. This marks Southern Tide’s third year as the official apparel partner for Beneath the Waves.
This new launch expands upon the Southern Tide x Beneath the Waves original 2020 capsule collection. The new men’s product offerings will focus on performance wear, including two performance long-sleeve sport shirts and the Fintastic Swim Trunks. Products featured include a shark pattern that symbolizes Beneath the Waves’ dedication to using science to protect the ocean and its most threatened species, sharks.
“As a coastal brand dedicated to life on and around the water, we are continually impressed by Beneath the Waves’ scaling impact and growth in the ocean space, driven by their devotion to marine protected areas. Now more than ever, we must play our part in making the oceans a safer and cleaner environment for marine life,” says Carey Ann Campbell, CEO of Southern Tide. She notes, “We are particularly excited about the Fintastic Swim Trunks, which along with other products in Southern Tide’s swim collection, use a more environmentally friendly fabric containing blended coconut husk fibers and reflects Southern Tide’s continued efforts to reduce its footprint.”
In addition to the collaboration launching on May 9th, Southern Tide and Beneath the Waves are teaming up to host a series of panels in Florida throughout the month of May. Topics will include Beneath the Waves’ recent research initiatives, how the organization came to life, as well as educating attendees and community members on conservation efforts and ways to get involved.
“We are grateful for Southern Tide’s continued support and dedication as we look to champion marine research and ocean conservation efforts,” said Dr. Austin Gallagher, CEO of Beneath the Waves. “With the help of our partners, like Southern Tide, we have been able to begin new projects on blue carbon, and expand our deep-sea research efforts throughout the Caribbean, and even to places in the Red Sea in an effort to document and assess biodiversity and species abundance on our planet’s final frontier.”
Southern Tide announced its partnership with Beneath the Waves in 2020 to help raise awareness of marine conservation efforts and educate the public on marine species and habitats. Through this multi-year partnership, both brands aim to help create a better planet for future generations. For additional information on Southern Tide, visit www.southerntide.com.
