SPEEDO TAKES FITNESS LIFESTYLE APPROACH TO SELLING PERFORMANCE-WEAR
Speedo has unveiled its ‘Less Gym, More Swim’ campaign, providing professionally curated fitness drills and inspirational content. The latest offering from Speedo aims to inspire fitness communities to add swimming to their routines and start reaping the benefits of the original full-body workout.
Integrating regular swim workouts into existing regimens holds proven benefits, with a OnePoll* survey reporting improved stamina in 87% of participants, with 89% feeling fitter and stronger when adding swim to their routines. Further studies found that runners incorporating just a small amount of swimming (just 10% of their running training) improved 3.2km runs by over 13 seconds in eight weeks. Swim workouts also provide an effective calorie burner with just half an hour of steady swimming, burning up to 350 calories.
To support these goals, Speedo’s Less Gym, More Swim drills will provide easy-to-follow swim fitness content designed to inspire both core swimmers and wider fitness communities. Further drill workouts will be available via the Speedo website.
Speedo has also revealed innovative products to support training in and out of the water. Speedo ambassador and Olympic Gold Medallist Cullen Jones said: “Throughout my career, swim training has benefitted all facets of my wider fitness goals, and I’m excited to see Speedo’s latest campaign help inspire the fitness community and begin enjoying the benefits of swim-based workouts. Whether running, cycling, strength training, or simply looking to boost training goals, swimming has the potential to transform our fitness and well-being, and I encourage everyone to dive in and embrace Less Gym, More Swim”.
Speedo VP Brand Marketing, Steph O’Neill, said, “Swimming remains the ultimate and original full body workout, engaging 24 muscle groups with low impact highly effective training that offers added benefits such as enhanced flexibility and mental well-being.
