PROJECT and MRKET are reinventing the tradeshow experience for its attendees this July 21-23.
In order to further connect and inspire the global fashion community that gather bi-annually at the Jacob Javits Center, PROJECT and MRKET are adding new experiences, brand activations and educational forums to complement its dynamic lineup of brands.
“We have some really exciting news and enhanced programming for the upcoming PROJECT and MRKET New York fashion trade event,” says Lizette Chin, president of men’s at Informa. “The two new initiatives that we’re introducing are ‘PROJECTION’, a new brand showcase, and Made in Italy where we evolve our partnership with the Italian Trade Commission to bring the best of Italian men’s fashion and culture to life.”
“The PROJECTION installation will be a unique space where we provide an innovative visual highlight of new brands and special product launches. This will give our retailers what they’ve been asking for—a place where they can find what’s new, right at the entrance so they can better map their routes.
Chin adds: “We’ve also teamed up with Italian style aficionado Karl-Edwin Guerre and MR fashion director Stephen Garner to host the live fashion presentations that acclaimed stylist Michael Macko will be producing. Other experiences onsite that will engage our community include panel discussions, visual photography displays and delightful Italian treats throughout the three days of the show.”
In addition to these two major new initiatives, attendees can expect to find new educational forums throughout the show floor. Trend forecasting agency WGSN will host a “Buyer’s Briefing” where they will dish on the top trends for spring/summer 2020, and Highsnobiety will host a panel on “Retail in the Age of Instagram”. And, MR editor-in-chief Karen Alberg Grossman will sit and chat with industry veterans to deep dive into their professional journey.
Also new this season, a new destination to energize and revitalize your shopping experience at THE TENTS. Dubbed, THE TENTS RETREAT, This area promotes a healthy lifestyle with a zen lounge, exclusive giveaways, select food, beverage, and more.
Towards the end of each day at the Javits Center, the show will provide great networking opportunities with various happy hours. Make new connections with the thought-leaders of the PROJECT N:OW forums each afternoon over beer, wine and light bites and be sure to mix and mingle with the MRKET community during the day one happy hour.
