STEVE MADDEN COLLABORATES WITH GQ ON NEW COLLECTION
Footwear and accessories brand Steve Madden and men’s lifestyle magazine GQ have teamed up to release a men’s footwear and accessories collection.
The collaboration features a total of seven shoe styles, five bags, as well as cellphone and sunglasses cases. Steve Madden, along with GQ creative director Jim Moore, sought to create a capsule collection to redefine a men’s accessory closet. Together the team handpicked materials, stitching, and finishes to create the ultimate men’s shoe and bag collection. The full collection is available for pre-sale on SteveMadden.com today, and will be sold in select Steve Madden retail stores and other specialty retailers on August 16.
“It seems it has always been much more interesting to buy women’s shoes than men’s, and I’m looking to change that,” said Steve Madden. “I want to be able to give guys the same options that we have always been able to give women. This collaboration with GQ does just that.”
The GQ x Steve Madden shoe collection delivers premium style through top of the line materials. Featuring vegetable tanned calf leather and meticulously detailed outsoles, each pair has a unique, vintage touch. Along with high-end treatments and hand finished details, each pair is lined with a memory foam sock.
The bag collection mirrors that of footwear, using durable materials like buffed calfskin, herringbone wool and high-quality nylon suited for any day of the week. The five-bag collection includes a weekender, tote, briefcase and backpacks; each include multiple features like laptop sleeves, zip pockets and removable shoulder straps.
The shoe collection starts at $100 for sneakers and reaches $225 for various boots styles. The bags range from $175 for totes up to $398 for a multi-faceted all leather backpack. The additional accessories consisting of a cellphone and sunglasses case are available in either leather, suede or herringbone, and range from $35-$45.
“Our goal was to create the perfect collection of footwear–with bags to mix and match–that we feel every guy should own for fall, encouraging them to purge the old and merge the new; the full collection is GQ endorsed and sure to keep every guy in perfect style-step,” added Moore.
