STREETWEAR ON ICE: STAPLE TEAMS WITH SHERWOOD HOCKEY

by Christopher Blomquist

Staple, the cult NYC-based streetwear brand headed by designer Jeff Staple, has paired with equipment provider Sherwood Hockey for the first-ever full streetwear x hockey collaboration.

The limited edition release consists of apparel and hockey gear that feature a custom camouflage print with Staple’s signature color palette. The apparel selection includes a SS tee, LS tee, hoodie, jersey and cap with retail price ranging from $34.99 to $79.99. The hockey equipment includes a one-of-a-kind collaborative Sherwood x Staple Code gloves ($199.99) and a Sherwood x Staple Code hockey stick ($299.99). Both pieces of equipment are individually numbered, with only 200 gloves and 250 sticks produced globally. In addition to the stick and glove, there are three collectible pucks with a co-branded display stand ($39.99).

“Hockey was one of my first true passions as goalie mask designs blew my mind and led to me picking up the sport as a kid, ultimately playing through college. It’s a full-circle moment for me to now be collaborating with Sherwood Hockey, which was my preferred brand as a player. Creating the first ever legitimate hockey x streetwear collaboration is a childhood dream come true,” said Jeff Staple in a statement.

The physical collection is now being sold at staplepigeon.com, sherwoodhockey.com, SportChek.ca and ProHockeyLife.com as well as exclusively in-store at Atmos New York’s location on 203 W 125th Street.
