by John Russel Jones

Denim brand DL1961 debuted its men’s Spring/Summer 2022 campaign today on its website, lensed by photographer Katie McCurdy and featuring model Levi Dylan, grandson of music icon Bob Dylan.

McCurdy, whose clients have included Nike, Givenchy, Urban Outfitters, Ralph Lauren, American Eagle, and much more, has also shot editorial pieces for Vogue, GQ, NY Mag, King Kong, i-D, and Vice.

Dylan is also the son of Jakob Dylan of The Wallflowers, and actress and writer Paige Dylan. His grandmother is model Sara Lownds. The 28-year-old is also a budding actor, having appeared in the movies Mighty Oak and 12 Mighty Orphans, among others.

DL1961’s men’s denim collection includes skinny, tapered, slim, slim straight, and relaxed straight fits with a variety of fabrications and inseams, as well as shorts and jackets. Prices range from $88-$158. The collection is 100% sustainable and vertically integrated, overseeing the entire manufacturing process from fiber to finished garment. Jeans typically take about 1,500 gallons of water to produce, but DL1961’s take less than 10. The company also treats and recycle 98% of the water used during the manufacturing process.
