THE ONION COLLABS WITH KENNETH COLE AS REAL NEWS BECOMES IMPOSSIBLE TO PARODY
Launching on July 4, The Onion, the parody news giant, will collaborate with Kenneth Cole Productions to raise funds for the Mental Health Coalition. The limited-edition line of apparel and accessories aims to raise awareness about mental health and encourage open dialogue on the topic, promoting a destigmatization of the subject. 100% of the proceeds from the collection will be donated to the Mental Health Coalition, supporting its mission to eliminate the stigma surrounding mental health.
The capsule blends tailored design with cutting satire. The seven-piece unisex capsule includes tees, hoodies, and accessories emblazoned with fictional headlines and slogans that walk the line between comedy and critique.
Inspired by the absurdities of modern life, the relentless noise of media, and the contradictions that shape today’s cultural landscape, The Headline Collection combines The Onion’s trademark wit with Kenneth Cole’s ethos. For decades, Kenneth Cole Productions has leveraged its platform to drive social impact on issues from HIV/AIDS to gun control to mental health. Cole was honored at last year’s MR Awards with our Humanitarian Award for his continued efforts in this space.
“We are proud to partner with The Onion, one of the boldest voices in publishing,” says Kenneth Cole, Chairman and Chief Creative Officer at Kenneth Cole Productions, Inc., “As a brand, we’ve always believed in using our voice and our platform to stand for something meaningful. In a world that’s more divided than ever, cutting through the noise with purpose has never been more important. That’s why we’ve joined forces: to raise awareness, provoke conversation, and issue a call to think more critically and speak more openly.”
