THE REALREAL OPENS BROOKLYN STORE
Luxury consignment retailer The RealReal has expanded its physical footprint in NYC with a new store in Brooklyn.
Located at 163 Court Street in the Cobble Hill neighborhood, the new 2,500 square foot store opened for business on Tuesday. The shop features two Luxury Consignment Offices, as well as an offering of men’s and women’s ready-to-wear, bags, shoes, sneakers, fine jewelry, watches, home, and art.
“One of our advantages going into any market is that we know what neighborhoods are central for our buyers and consignors,” said Courtney Hawkins, vice president of retail. “Cobble Hill is an ideal location because it’s convenient for our existing base, and it’s a prime shopping and dining destination with great foot traffic to help increase our exposure to the local community. Our Brooklyn store will complement our Manhattan retail locations in Soho and the Upper East Side, giving our community an additional spot to shop and consign even more locally.”
Like all The RealReal stores, everything in the store is for sale – including the furniture and décor. One-of-a-kind pieces, curated for Brooklyn shoppers, with new items added every day. Men’s brands that are on offer include Thom Browne, Rick Owens, Maison Margiela, Dior, Gucci, and Louis Vuitton.
“Our Brooklyn customers are investing heavily in designer outerwear and knitwear, particularly pieces by Saint Laurent, Gucci, Prada, and Celine,” added Mayank Hajela, head of men’s. “We’re bringing in a mix of knitwear and seasonal items into the store for winter, including cardigans, turtlenecks, flannel shirts, and trousers. Streetwear is also in high demand among our Brooklyn shoppers, so we’re leaning into ‘Gorpcore,’ modern streetwear for the outdoors. We’ll be showcasing a mix of jackets (puffers, bombers, anoraks), hoodies, cargo pants, utility vests, and more, from popular designers including Supreme, Balenciaga, The North Face, Patagonia, and Moncler.”
A full menu of services is also available while shopping including cleaning, repairs, bespoke alterations. Same-day buy online, pick up in-store or curbside pick-up is also available. Complimentary fine jewelry, watch, and handbag valuations by The RealReal experts, including gemologists and horologists, are available. And, in-person consignment appointments, as well as curbside drop-offs, are available. (In January, customers will receive a $100 credit for consigning in-store.)
