TODD SNYDER GIVES SNEAK PEEK TO TENNIS-INSPIRED SPRING ‘20 COLLECTION

by Stephen Garner

Todd Snyder has released a new sneak peek at his spring/summer 2020 collection.

This season’s inspiration is a cross-section of McEnroe meets Savile Row – a mod match for the fashion books. Tailored and tourney go head to head in ‘70s-influenced tennis silhouettes, bringing sartorial swagger to the gentlemen’s sport and off-court uniform.

Dapper suiting in bold head-to-toe pastel seersucker and brash madras defies convention, but always with impeccable form, befitting the guy who’s equally meticulous about his jackets and his racquets. Pro shop prep – polos, hoodies, terry, velour – gets into a new groove with disco bravado, more night club than country club.

Unexpected doubles partners – the satin track pant and suede topper; the crisp white turtleneck and laminated gingham trench; the gym short and linen sport coat – ace the leisure game, up-leveling baseline essentials. Meanwhile, a jock cardigan served up with a vintage floral short suit is Spring’s ultimate warmup look – eclectic, elegant and energetic.

“For spring 2020, we took all the staples of American prep and turned them on their head in an irreverent homage to the ultimate gentlemen’s sport,” said Snyder.
