TODD SNYDER OPENS NEW STORE, TRAVISMATHEW RENOVATES

From East Coast to West, as the summer heats up it’s also time to get those new and newly renovated stores open. American menswear designer Todd Snyder has opened a permanent location at Rockefeller Center, in New York, while golf and lifestyle brand TravisMathew has fully redesigned and renovated its flagship at Fashion Island in Newport Beach, California.

The Blue Room at Todd Snyder highlights Japanese and Made in USA denim and shirting, Made in L.A. indigo tees, and a selection of vintage jewelry. The room is designed with floor-to-ceiling wainscoting painted in a custom blue, windows facing onto the Channel Gardens, a custom Carrara marble fireplace, and chevron striped natural wood floors.

Following the success of Todd Snyder’s 2021 Holiday Pop-Up, the brand has opened its fifth permanent store, a 3,500-square-foot shop at 620 Fifth Avenue. The store has entrances on 50th Street and the iconic Channel Gardens, with views onto the Rink at Rockefeller Center. Upon entering the space from the Channel Gardens, a postmodern 1970s chandelier illuminates the thirty-foot tall grand foyer constructed of natural teak board and batten walls and black & white check marble floors.

“When I opened my first shop in downtown Manhattan, I never really thought I would have the opportunity to get to Rockefeller Center. Now here we are ten years later with a shop in one of the most famous and visited shopping centers in the world,” says Snyder. “It’s promising to see how the center has shifted over the past few years, becoming a local hangout for New Yorkers and a destination for discovery of smaller American brands on a global stage.”

Each room balances utility-inspired details with rare mid-century furniture and artwork, sourced from places like Hudson, NY, based dealer, Finch, and 1stdibs. The rooms are accented with tabletops of rare books available for purchase, rugs from ABC Carpet & Home, Morris & Co. wallpaper, and lighting from Roman & Williams Guild.

TravisMathew’s Fashion Island flagship receives complete renovation, inviting customers to enjoy a new, elevated shopping experience.

The revamped TravisMathew store features a wider selection of the brand’s lifestyle, activewear, and outerwear apparel and footwear, including the recently announced TravisMathew Women’s collection. Originally opened in 2014, the Fashion Island marked the apparel brand’s first physical storefront and prides itself on being more than just an apparel store. The location boasts games including a custom TravisMathew branded shuffleboard and elevated glass ping pong table.

“Fashion Island was our first retail location and since inception, we have had such a strong presence with both the local community and visitors of their outdoor dining and shopping experience. The location truly matches our brand values that are premium and aspirational yet approachable and fun,” said Ryan Ellis, CEO of TravisMathew. “Our goal with redesigning this location is to provide our customers with a reimagined, elevated shopping experience and a dedicated space for our new women’s line. In addition to new product offerings, we have created an entertainment space for all.”

On Saturday, June 25th, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., quarterback and TravisMathew Ambassador, Matt Ryan will be stopping by the store to mingle with media and customers as they get their first look at the redesigned and renovated storefront. Ryan has been a fan of the brand since day one and officially became an ambassador in 2021, a natural fit for the avid golfer.

The brand has 30 locations in the United States, including eight in its home state of California stretching from Roseville to San Diego.
