TOM DALEY LAUNCHES WOOLMARK-CERTIFIED WOOL KNIT KIT
Woolmark and Olympic diver Tom Daley teamed up last year. Daley has taken on the role as Woolmark’s newest brand ambassador, and the pair dived into their newest endeavor by launching a wool knit kit together.
Daley, like many, first took up knitting during the pandemic. He could regularly be found knitting on the pool deck during the Tokyo Olympics (which we often forget was the pandemic Olympics) to channel his energy.
What began at the pool’s edge caught the world’s attention, sparking a love affair with the wool fiber.
Following the support he found in the knitting community, Daley founded Made With Love, a knitting and crocheting movement. Over the past 6 months, Daley and the Made With Love team have been working with UK-based yarn manufacturer, Laxtons, to test and trial Merino wool yarns. What has evolved is a pastel-inspired Woolmark-certified knit kit that will include three exclusive knitting patterns for a jumper, vest, and hat.
The knit kits are available in seven colors: Lilac Snow, Lemon Zest, Delicate Blue, Lime Cream, Pale Peach, Candy Pink, and Natural Cream.
“The knit kit brings some of my favorite pieces to life using 100% Merino wool. The wool fiber’s natural properties make it perfect for comfort, breathability, and warmth,” says Daley. “It’s a natural, renewable fiber I’ve always trusted and loved, and I can’t wait to see how it inspires others on their knitting journey.”
The Made With Love x Woolmark knit kits will be available via www.madewithloveworld.com and select retailers across the US, UK, Europe, and Asia in the coming months.
