SaksFifthAvenue-logo.jpgSaks Fifth Avenue has named former Bergdorf Goodman executive Tracy Margolies chief merchant, starting May 11, 2015. She will report to Saks president Mark Metrick.

Margolies, who has been SVP/GMM of beauty, contemporary 5F, footwear and handbags at Bergdorf Goodman for the last two and a half years, spent seven years as VP/DMM of women’s footwear at Saks between 2005 and 2012. At Saks, Margolies worked closely with Metrick. She began her career at Bergdorf Goodman in 2001.

“Tracy knows the Saks culture, has strong vendor partnerships and brings a built-in passion for the Saks brand,” said Metrick in a statement. “When the chief merchant position opened up at Saks I immediately thought of Tracy, and when I assumed my role as president she was my first call. I’m confident that she will help us elevate the brand and continue to drive our strategy forward.”

Margolies replaces Jennifer de Winter, who was brought on in late 2013 at the same time as former president Marigay McKee. De Winter left the retailer in February and McKee left in the beginning of April.
