Travis Scott Launches A Texas-Inspired Capsule Collection For Helmut Lang

by MR Magazine Staff

Minimalism doesn’t seem like it would be Travis Scott’s thing. Lest we forget, this is a guy who flew to get ready for Alexander Wang’s after-party last season on a helicopter and later wore a Patek Philippe watch strapped to his wrist and loads of necklaces hanging from his neck. According to the rapper, however, that’s not actually the case. “I like simplicity and I am pretty realistic when it comes to clothes,” he says. “I hate all that fantasy, extra-weird, over-the-top shit.” He may travel to prepare for gigs by chopper, sit front row at shows, and wear luxury labels, but for his first major fashion collaboration, he’s paired up with a brand with a thoroughly unassuming, unfussy aesthetic. Launching today, the limited capsule collection of 19 menswear pieces includes T-shirts, shoes, denim, a bomber, and a leather jacket, all priced between $175 and $1,715 and is available at Helmut Lang stores in Los Angeles and New York City, as well as Barneys New York, other select retailers, and online.
