UNIQLO RELEASES SECOND CAPSULE WITH ENGINEERED GARMENTS

by Stephen Garner

Uniqlo has launched a new line of fleece through a second seasonal collaboration with New York-based fashion brand Engineered Garments.

After the inaugural collection proved an instant hit after it rolled out in May this year, these new fleece items showcase Engineered Garments’ distinctive contemporary take on Americana fashion mixed with Uniqlo’s LifeWear commitment to the Japanese values of simplicity, quality, and longevity.

The collection comprises of four men’s fleece designs in Engineered Garments’ understated black, navy, olive, and gray hues. The range features designs with combinations of differently textured nylon, jackets in knit-like fabrics, and collarless coats that draw inspiration from detachable liners on jackets.

“I congratulate Uniqlo on a quarter-century of delighting consumers with its fleece LifeWear,” said Daiki Suzuki, designer of Engineered Garments. “We based the new fleece items on the military taste that is pivotal to Engineered Garments’ design palette. It has been gratifying to be able to draw on Uniqlo’s robust record in developing fleece fabrics and the support of its fleece experts, and thereby offer our designs to match Uniqlo’s quality and pricing to a very broad market.”
