Global apparel retailer Uniqlo will open a new 8,000-square foot store this spring at The Mall at Bay Plaza, marking its first location in the Bronx, New York.

The shop will offer the brand’s full range of LifeWear for men, women, and kids, including its ultra-light down jackets that pack neatly into a pouch, its Airism collection, designed with quick-drying and anti-odor properties, jeans made from authentic Japanese Kaihara denim, premium French linen shirts, and other essentials.

“We are thrilled to be opening our newest location in New York, a city we have called home since opening our first store in the U.S. in 2006,” said Hiroshi Taki, CEO of Uniqlo USA. “The Mall at Bay Plaza brings an unparalleled shopping experience to the Bronx, where more and more families are choosing to live and work. We look forward to joining the community and offering our high quality, thoughtfully designed, functional apparel that is made for all.”

The new store will also extend Uniqlo’s commitment to giving back to the New York City community, where the brand has worked with the Department of Homeless Services for the past four years to donate clothing and children’s toys to people in need.
