UPCYCLED SWIM BRAND MARWIDA LAUNCHES IN AMERICA WITH NORDSTROM

by Stephen Garner

The Swedish sustainable premium men’s swimwear company Marwida sets sail towards America, as its core collection launches at Nordstrom. Now launching in the U.S., Marwida is setting out to give style-conscious men the option of eco-friendly top-of-the-line beachwear that takes your mindset back to the azure blue sea of the Amalfi Coast.

Produced in Portugal, Marwida’s swimwear only uses engineered upcycled materials, with approximately 40 percent is Seaqual Yarn, a polyester produced under license from The Seaqual Initiative, which together with fishermen, NGOs, and local communities are cleaning the Mediterranean of marine litter. The remaining yarn in a pair of Marwidas comes from land recycled post-consumer plastic bottles.

“Taking a stand against over-consumption, we simply promote a quality lifestyle that involves timeless style, decadence, and the love and respect for the ocean,” said John Magnér, CEO of Marwida.

Instead of seasonal collections, Marwida’s vision is to exclusively create high-quality classics. By letting favorites styles stay on and add new designs organically, they minimize their production volumes and climate footprint.

For each purchased pair of Marwida’s swim, $5 is donated to the Coral Reef Alliance to help preserve our oceans.
