Von MaurIowa-based retailer Von Maur Department Stores has announced plans to open a 90,000-square-foot store at Woodland Mall in Grand Rapids, Michigan. Scheduled to open fall 2019, the store will be the company’s third location in Michigan.

The store will feature products from leading brands such as Eileen Fisher, Vineyard Vines, Free People, and Kendra Scott, among many others. Construction of the single story Von Maur store will begin summer 2018 and will feature the company’s exterior brick façade and signature residential ambiance, complete with antiques, original artwork, open-floor plan and music from the store’s grand piano. It is expected that the store will eventually employ 150 associates – the majority of which will be full-time.

“With its exceptional collection of shopping, dining and entertainment offerings, Woodland Mall is a fantastic location for us to continue growing our brand in Michigan,” said Jim von Maur, president of Von Maur. “We’re excited to introduce area shoppers to our beautiful merchandise and signature Von Maur service, and we look forward to becoming a premier shopping destination in Grand Rapids for years to come.”

“We are excited to welcome Von Maur and its excellent reputation of focusing on the consumer experience to improve the retail lineup at an already stellar property in a great market,” added Joseph Coradino, CEO of PREIT.  “This addition will solidify Woodland Mall as the preeminent shopping and lifestyle destination in the region and PREIT is pleased to welcome a top-notch retailer to our portfolio.”

The retailer also plans to open its first location in Wisconsin in April 2017 and second location in Minnesota in fall 2018.
