Wainscot Media, publishers of MR, Forum and Sartorial magazines and content provider for more than 50 well-respected publications in total, has acquired 9Threads, publisher of two magazines serving retailers in the field of fashion. This brings the number of fashion-centric magazines produced by Wainscot to 22.
The newly acquired titles, purchased from Symphony Publishing NY, are Footwear Plus and Earnshaw’s, both business-to-business magazines produced ten times a year. Footwear Plus, as the name suggests, serves the field of shoe retailing. The footwear market in the United States exceeded $81 billion in 2017. Earnshaw’s, which is 103 years old, targets retailers of children’s fashion and juvenile products. On a global basis, the children’s wear market grew 6.2 percent in 2017. Staffs of the two magazines will continue to operate from a New York office under the direction of Caroline Diaco, publisher of 9Threads. The company will now offer its clients an expanded range of content-marketing solutions.
In making the announcement, Wainscot president Mark Dowden noted that the transaction further solidifies Wainscot’s position as a leading provider of exceptional content and marketing solutions (both print and digital) for fashion retailers, brands and consumers. The company, based in Park Ridge N.J., also serves luxury markets, including jewelry and home furnishings, with brand magazines, digital marketing services and events. Wainscot Health creates content marketing programs for healthcare organizations, physician groups and other clients nationwide. Wainscot is also a major provider of regional magazines, digital marketing services and quality events in New Jersey. “We are proud to add Earnshaw’s and Footwear Plus to our growing family,” said Dowden. “As we learn from each other, we continue to create increasingly powerful and effective content for our clients.”
