Walmart To Acquire Virtual Fitting Room Platform As Retail Giant Leans Into Fashion

Walmart Inc.’s apparel business for years consisted largely of basics as the world’s biggest retailer eschewed fashion. All that changed when former CEO of Walmart U.S. e-commerce Marc Lore bought brands such as Bonobos and Modcloth, which have since been sold. The retailer has nonetheless been getting more serious about fashion, and today revealed plans to acquire Zeekit, a virtual fitting room platform, to enable enhanced and social shopping experiences for consumers.
