_MG_2117_R_CROPLondon-based contemporary fashion brand Whistles is celebrating its first birthday by launching a dedicated menswear Instagram @whistlesmen and an exclusive denim capsule with Japanese denim brand, Edwin.

The collaboration is a take on the Edwin ED-80 style which is constructed from 12oz Milanese selvedge. Using Edwin’s technical expertise, the fabric formed is a 3×1 right hand twill that is woven open and loose on original shuttle looms, producing a raw denim that’s remarkably supple. The rich color was achieved by dipping the jeans seven times in indigo, making them ideal for wearing-in.

In September 2014, Whistles launched its hotly anticipated debut men’s collection. Contemporary design with modern utility, Whistles menswear is an edited collection that combines understated looks with refined styling; produced to be relevant for work and leisure in the knowledge that what separates those worlds is becoming less defined.

In the past year, the brand has come out with other limited-edition collaborations such as t-shirts with illustrator Joe Cruz, baseball caps with Ebbets Flannels and raincoats with Stutterheim.
