Parisian fashion brand Y/Project previewed its new collaboration with footwear brand Ugg at its show in Paris on Wednesday, January 17.
The capsule collection showcased at both the men’s and women’s Paris Fashion Week shows, celebrates Ugg’s most iconic styles by referencing, sheepskin, the color chestnut, and well-known silhouettes.
“You’ll see the exact same piece on a man as on a woman, just styled differently,” said Glenn Marens, designer of Y/Project. “The importance of duality can be seen across this collection. The Ugg Classic boot is one of the most recognizable shoes in history. It’s timeless and challenging design made it a worldwide statement. Y/Project is about challenges. Since launch we’ve been twisting the grounded codes, we challenged the acceptable and triggered people by putting a focus on the unexpected.”
“It has been a real pleasure working with Glenn and the team,” added Andrea O’Donnell, president of fashion and lifestyle at Deckers, the parent company of Ugg. “He designs conceptual and thought-provoking collections and footwear, we knew he would do something unexpected with our Ugg Classic boot. Re-interpreting our DNA in new and exciting ways – we love the results!”
