Alvarado Joins MMG Corp.
NEW YORK – Dave Alvarado has joined MMG Corp. as West Coast sales executive, a post that has been vacant for about a year.
Alvarado joins the St. Louis-based neckwear firm from Mulberry Neckwear, where his most recent post was national sales manager.
At MMG, Alvarado reports to Dave Klaus, vice president and national sales manager, and will focus on building the company’s business on the West Coast.
MMG’s portfolio of licensed brands includes Daniel de Fasson Studio, Jhane Barnes Frequency, Steve Harvey, Hallmark and Tango. Its upscale Premiere Neckwear Groupe includes the Daniel de Fasson Monogram, John Bartlett and Jaymes designer names.
Alvarado’s appointment is among a series of executive moves that have taken place in the neckwear industry in recent months as a number of large producers have downsized or shifted their emphasis. Last week, Scott Patti, formerly president of Mallory & Church, joined Peacock Apparel Group as executive vice president of sales and licensing. In February, another longtime Mallory & Church executive, Allen Whipple, joined The Aron Group as president of its neckwear division. He’d been VP of sales at Mallory & Church.
