Asaf Ganot Autumn/Winter 2015
By Erik DeFruscio
The definition of an Asaf Ganot man is refined, elemental and active. Asaf Ganot takes a sportswear approach for his autumn/winter 2015 collection, his second that has been shown.
When Ganot was growing up, he was always around textiles and has always had an instinctive understanding for materials. After his basketball career, he decided to teach himself about fabrics, sewing and textures and realizes he is still learning every day.
Ganot states that he doesn’t always want to change his collection drastically. He likes to develop fabrics while keeping his collections high-end — especially for his clientele of boxers and other athletes.
While Ganot kept the collection geared towards athletes, he also wove sophistication into it. The collection shows movement, risk-taking, minimalism and luxury. Ganot uses suede, wool, cotton and cashmere to showcase a layered look including sweaters, suits and trenches.
Leather-trimmed tuxedos and quilted leather jacket are paired with casual jeans while other wool ribbed sweaters are paired with track pants showcasing athleisure. The overall collection has a dark palette including black and gray Italian fabrics used to showcase outerwear and knits.
