ASICS AND GALLERY DEPT. PARTNER TO RELEASE A COLLABORATIVE GT-2160TM SHOE

by Brett Stout

ASICS and GALLERY DEPT. are furthering their partnership with the unveiling of a collaborative GT-2160TM shoe. In the past, ASICS and GALLERY DEPT. have worked together on the GEL-LYTETM V and GEL-1130TM silhouettes and this marks the first time the two brands are utilizing the GT-2160TM model.

“The inspiration for this new collaborative shoe stems from moments of reflection and mindfulness in my studio,” said GALLERY DEPT. founder, Josué Thomas. “Seeing how my own ASICS shoes visually changed over time while working on art projects, I was inspired to replicate that concept of individualisim as we developed this new GT-2160.”

Channeling that notion of individualization, the GALLERY DEPT. x ASICS GT-2160TM shoes will be produced so that each pair is not exactly alike and unique in its own way.

The GT-2160TM model pays homage to the technical designs of the GT-2000TM line of the early 2010s. With the designs intact, the GT-2160TM features a sleek aesthetic and wavy forefoot sculpting, not to mention the popular segmented midsole structure and GEL® technology inserts.

The GALLERY DEPT. x ASICS GT-2160TM shoes will be available starting December 8th at GALLERY DEPT. stores in Los Angeles and Miami and online at gallerydept.com. Starting December 15th, the collaborative shoe will be available globally at select retailers. The shoe will retail for $295 USD.
