BAPE x ALPHA INDUSTRIES COLLABORATE ON COLLECTION OF REIMAGINED STREETWEAR
BAPE and Alpha Industries have released a new collaboration featuring a limited-edition collection of streetwear featuring traditional Japanese craftsmanship. Renowned for its iconic camo pattern and innovative approach to fashion, BAPE continues to push boundaries and captivate audiences with its creativity and authenticity. Alpha Industries, established in 1959, has been a pioneer in producing high-quality, functional military-inspired apparel. The brand’s iconic MA-1 flight jacket has become a staple in contemporary fashion and continues to influence streetwear trends worldwide. Known for its commitment to craftsmanship and timeless designs, Alpha Industries has solidified its position as a leader in the industry.
The Reversible Kimono Jacket (above, $679 Retail) and classic MA-1 Jacket (top, $629) are the standout pieces of the BAPE x Alpha Industries collaboration. These items are crafted to pay tribute to Sashiko, a form of decorative reinforcement stitching (or functional embroidery) from Japan, reimagining both style and aesthetic. Designed with inspirations from Ukiyo-e, a genre of Japanese art that flourished from the 17th through 19th centuries, the back prints on both Kimono Jacket and MA-1 Jacket are beautifully embroidered with graphics of BAPE’s iconic motifs, ensuring the archival touch. The union of function and fashion that pervades the whole collection is exemplified in the jackets.
The Shark Full Zip Hoodie ($499) is another highlighted piece from the collection, which effortlessly merges style and functionality. It features BAPE’s iconic SHARK face details and Alpha Industries’ MA-1 side pocket, instantly recognizable and synonymous with both brands’ streetwear and military aesthetic. This striking design feature brings a unique and edgy flair to the hoodie, distinguishing it from the rest. The SHARK Face details not only make a bold fashion statement but also symbolize the creative collaboration between BAPE and Alpha Industries.
The collection also offers a range of collaborative designs, including T-shirt, 6-Pocket Pants, Military Hat, and the classic MANHUNT. This collection, which combines Japanese craftsmanship, military expertise, and streetwear flair, is a true reflection of heritage and creative spirit of both brands.
Honoring the military aesthetics from the collaboration with Alpha Industries, BAPE has once again teamed up with Alpha Industries and Medicom Toy to proudly announce the launch of the BAPE x Alpha Industries x Medicom Toy N3B BE@RBRICK collection, which includes a 1000% ($1,499) and a 400%+100% ($279) set. Both BE@RBRICKs come in the army green camo, but the 400% + 100% set is designed with the classic MA-1 Jacket graphics on the body, while the 1000% BE@RBRICK is celebrating the collaboration in one of Alpha Industries’ classic silhouettes – N3B, a USAF Snorkel parka featuring reinforced elbow patches, a full-length storm flap and inset knit cuffs for durability and protection against the elements.
