BASIC RIGHTS DEBUTS LOUNGEWEAR

by Stephen Garner

First debuting last month, contemporary fashion line Basic Rights has launched loungewear.

Called “Basic Nights,” the line is a revamped, work-from-home-approved collection of camp collared shirts and coordinating trousers. Each of the three new styles are named after a constellation and exudes a versatile, nonchalant sense of luxury that’s as fitting for home as it is for traveling, whenever that resumes. Sizes run from XS to XL, with retails between $195 and $295.

The “Draco” style boasts a bold, contrasting combination of black and yellow on Tencel twill, and is finished off with natural horn buttons. The trousers have a long, slender relaxed fit, with a hidden zip fly and an elasticated waistband with a contrasting yellow drawcord.

The “Hydra” style comes in monochrome black, pink, and mustard iterations. It’s made from a comfortable, breathable blend of Tencel and modal fine twill and finished off with natural, mother-of-pearl buttons. The trousers have a long, slender relaxed fit, with hidden-button closure and an elasticated / drawstring waistband for comfort and practicality.

And, the “Vela” style is comprised of a lightweight, 100 percent cotton deadstock fabric in a calming sky blue finished off with mother-of-pearl buttons. Wide, relaxed fit shorts with hidden-button closure make up the bottom half of the most vernal set in the offering.

A tonal, embroidered Basic Nights star completes each piece. Grab a nightcap and settle in, let’s get comfortable.
