BEN SHERMAN X ACE CAFE: A LIMITED-EDITION CAPSULE BLENDING MOD STYLE AND BIKER HERITAGE

by John Russel Jones

Ben Sherman presents the Ben Sherman x Ace Cafe, a limited capsule collection inspired by mod and biker culture from the late 1950s to the present day. This exclusive collaboration encompasses seven pieces, each carefully crafted in a sleek black-and-white color palette, drawing inspiration from Ace Cafe’s iconic checkerboard pattern. The Ace Cafe was established in 1938 as a roadside restaurant catering to travelers, particularly truckers. With its proximity to Britain’s fast arterial road network, and being open 24 hours, the Ace Cafe soon attracted motorcyclists, too. Demolished in an air raid in 1940, the cafe was reconstructed, closed in 1969, and reopened in 1997.

Reimagining classic styles, the collection showcases Ben Sherman’s signature touch, featuring reinvented knitted zip polos, ’50s viscose bowling shirts, and graphics paying homage to the pivotal Mod era in British youth culture. The outcome is a collection of seven collectible, timeless styles seamlessly blending the best of both worlds—classic and contemporary.

As two iconic institutions at the heart of mod and rock n’ roll, Ben Sherman and Ace Cafe unite to create a unique narrative, remixing sartorial mod with a rock n’ roll attitude. This exclusive collaboration offers a limited-edition fashion statement where style, culture, and history converge in a compelling showcase.

The limited-capsule collection is available online at BenSherman.co.uk and BenSherman.com, and at Ben Sherman Stores.
