BERLUTI TEASES COLLABORATION WITH ARTIST BRIAN ROCHEFORT FOR SPRING 2021

by Stephen Garner

For spring/summer 2021, Berluti has teamed up with ceramic artist Brian Rochefort for the brand’s first creative collaboration on ready-to-wear. The collection was previewed online on July 9th as part of Digital Paris Fashion Week.

The garments and accessories – to be fully unveiled and launched in stores in January 2021 – expand on the new codes established for Berluti under creative director Kris Van Assche. A passionate ceramics collector, Van Assche’s vision is continually informed by the textures and colors related to ceramic art. This, in turn, draws natural parallels to the patina methods practiced by Berluti’s own artisans in Italy. Inspired by volcanoes and exotic plants, Rochefort’s exuberant signature blends intuitively with the augmented natural texture and color language exercised by Berluti.

“Right now, collaboration feels like a meaningful way to create something new,” said Van Assche. “As something of a ceramics’ nerd, I have admired Brian Rochefort’s expression for a long time, and am fortunate enough to own one of his works. I couldn’t be more excited to interpret his vision through the lens of Berluti.”
