THE BEST DRESSED MEN FROM THE 2017 EMMY AWARDS DIDN’T WEAR BLACK

[metaslider id=135403] Fashion folk are known to constantly bemoan one thing: “Men are afraid of wearing color.” Well, not all men – and especially not in Hollywood. Yes, plenty of television’s biggest male stars stuck to traditional black tie (bow tie and all) — and did it very well — at Sunday’s 69th Annual Emmy Awards. But even better, there was the occasional – and very welcomed – explosion of color on the red carpet and beamed into America’s living rooms thanks to some very fashion-savvy guys!

Two-time winner of the night Donald Glover (“Atlanta”) made a political statement in one of acceptance speeches, but his fashion statement of donning a purple Gucci tuxedo was even more effective! Equally on trend was young Caleb McLaughlin of Netflix’s hit series “Stranger Things” in a purple floral tuxedo jacket by Gucci. Actor Chris Sullivan, in a very show-bizzy ensemble by Brooks Brothers, donned a purple bowtie along with his top hat and navy blue jacket.

Indeed, the rainbow was in full view last night. “Modern Family” star Jesse Tyler Ferguson took a page from many of Tinseltown’s most famous redheads by donning green (a stunning Isaia jacket), while the outrageous Tituss Burgess (of “The Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt”) dazzled in a yellow J. Mueser jacket. Blue, a long-favored hue, wasn’t entirely forgotten (and looked particularly dashing on “Saturday Night Live” star Colin Jost). Plus, a few stars (including Jeremy Piven, Joel Kinnaman, and Anthony Anderson) opted for the not-easy-to-pull-off white-jacket look with winning results. (As for red, that was the color of the night for many of the ladies, including Emmy winner Nicole Kidman in an absolutely stunning Calvin Klein By Appointment gown!)

But ultimately, no one shone brighter than Emmy winner RuPaul — in a hilarious pre-taped segment where he portrayed the golden statuette herself. And his black-and-white, harlequin-inspired suit on the carpet was a showstopper of a whole other sort! Bravo!
