C.P. COMPANY UNVEILS SS23 SEED COLLECTION FOCUSED ON REDUCING ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACT

by John Russel Jones
Italian sportswear brand, C.P. Company, has officially unveiled its SS23 SEED Collection, an experimental collection focused on reducing the environmental impact of garment production.

Introduced this season, the SEED program is an ongoing series of laboratory trials dedicated to mitigating the environmental costs of garment production through reducing waste elimination, promotion of circular manufacturing methods, and shortening the production chain. The SS23 SEED collection is split into two parts, each using different methods to honor the same core mission:

SEED 1

With SEED 1, C.P. Company implements unusual yet ancient natural fibers like nettle and hemp, expertly mixed with premium cotton. These fibers are surprisingly ideal for textile production, pliable and with a good length to be spun into yarn. The final woven fabric is similar to linen, but much stronger and a bit stiffer, making it ideal for more structured garments. It blends nicely with other fibers, which can help to add softness and increase longevity when needed. Thanks to the plants growing being almost uncontrollable, these are a quickly renewable resource.

SEED 2

In the second capsule, C.P. Company explores new frontiers while experimenting with Eco-Chrome, an improved version of the proprietary fabric that uses Econyl regenerated nylon yarns, created by the upcycling of fishing nets, and a mix of recycled fleece and organic cotton. The inspiration is once again to head towards a more sustainable path, reducing waste and giving new life to scraps.

The C.P. Company SEED SS23 collection is now available in a full range of adult sizing, with prices ranging from $190 to $1,525 USD at cpcompany.com.
